PARASOL

12. March 2014

In Buddhist tradition, a parasol symbolizes prestige and safety, having the ability to protect its user from dangers caused by suffering, longing, insurmountable obstacles, diseases, and other harmful forces. This time around, the work displayed by the academy-trained painter Marko Jakše is an oil painting depicting a parasol in a fantasy setting with skilfully designed compositions. Through the world of symbolically tranquil melancholy, the artist opens up his inner world to the viewer full of archetypes and sublime expressions of his subjective experience of external reality.
